Trader Joe’s

19 Mar 2008 In: Randomness

I’m not too sure what to write about today, but in an effort to write even if I don’t want to, i’ll tell you about what I bought at Trader Joe’s today. If you aren’t familiar with TJ’s, its time to get familiar. They sell organic types of foods, but they are really good. It may cost just a bit more, but you find some original foods, lots of international stuff, and chances are the food you buy is much better for you compared to what you are eating now. As an added bonus, they have a GREAT beer, microbrew, and wine section.

Here, I even took a picture of todays bounty just for you…
Trader Joes Bounty-1

1. Very American Salad - its cheap (only $1.29) and will last about 2 meals per bag.
2. Shells with white cheddar - better than Kraft M & C.
3. Middle East Flatbread - to go with…
4. Garlic Hummus Dip - never tried this one, but they are usually pretty good. Easy/cheap/healthy snacks.
5. Crumbled Feta - great on salads.
6. Chicken fried rice - again, cheap and easy.
7. Thai Style Pasta Salad - never had it, but I didn’t want to cook dinner tonight and it sounds good right now (i’ve been in a thai/vietnamese/asian mood lately)
8. Beef Taquitos - Again, cheap and easy (and probably not horrible for you - but I haven’t checked)
9. Traditional Marinade Sauce - Super good, and something like $1.19 a jar.

Not a bad shopping day at $31.26 (the “prepared” food like the thai salad and sushi drove the price up pretty good)

del.icio.us

In my never ending quest to tweak/modify/adjust this site, I have added a new gimmicky thing.

On the right hand side you will see an RSS feed for my del.icio.us account. For those of you that don’t know (don’t worry, I just found out what it really is, although i’ve heard of it for a while), del.icio.us is a “social bookmarking site”. Basically, whenever I find something interesting or noteworthy, i’ll bookmark it, and it will show up on the right hand side there.

As always, it will probably be some very random stuff…

Also, perhaps you have noticed the five little buttons below each post. Those are direct links to social bookmarking and news sites (check out Digg if you have never seen it, its pretty interesting). For instance, if I post something that just brings tears of joy to your eyes, and is something you feel the rest of the world (well, anyone that tracks your del.icio.us or digg accounts), all you have to do is click the corresponding button, and that post will be added (assuming you are signed up and logged in).

Today is St. Patricks Day…

… and I dont own anything green (money included).

I decided to put off getting the D200, mainly because of some wedding I have to fund. But instead picked up a D80 so Bri could have the D50 for her summer trip. But still, woohoo!

I watched A Map For Saturday (mentioned below) and its okay. Not amazing, but worth watching.

Something worth checking out is the site Vagabondish. Its a site dedicated to travel, and has some helpful and entertaining articles.

I am getting in the mood for some camping, so hopefully you will be seeing some pictures from that…

Thats all for now, but plan on seeing some more posts soon!

I got chills the first time I watched this video.

A Map for Saturday

While roaming other travel blogs, I came across this documentary, ‘A Map for Saturday’. It looks pretty interesting and has quite a reputation behind it. Ill be putting one on order shortly, and might even write a little review about it. But, for now, here is a preview…

Site Revamp

If you haven’t already noticed, this site is quite different than it was yesterday. This is newest version of flynnism that I have been working on, and I am finally happy enough with it to launch it. Now bear with me, there are still little tweaks here and there, but overall its ready to go…

There isn’t much different right now as far as content is concerned, mainly just design differences (and a whole bunch of stuff running in the background).

Anyways, more news and what not to come, so stay tuned.

About Flynnism

This is my own little corner of the web to keep me busy. Although I dont really have any one subject to talk about, most of the stuff on here will probably be Tech or Travel related (seeing that they are the two things that I do most in my life). Have a look around, but remember that things around here are always changing.
