Today I finally had my latest iStockphoto submission reviewed. I had submitted 5 images - 3 were accepted, and 2 were rejected (and to be honest, they were the two that i’m not very surprised about). The 3 that were accepted were the best of the bunch, so yay!
That brings my approval rating up to 44%. Not great by any means, but im happy with it.
Take a look at the updated portfolio here.
(Oh, and also I am already “revamping” this site. You will know when the new one launches, just keep coming to http://www.flynnism.com and the page will automatically be directed to the freshest version)
Well, everything is “new” on this site…
First up are some pics from a recent trip to Alcatraz in San Francisco, CA. I lived in CA for most of my life, only 2 hours from SF, and never went on the Alcatraz tour until this past december. Its pretty cool, and definitely worth checking out at least once. I could easily go back again. We went in the later afternoon which made for some awesome pictures with the blue skies and yellow-orange from the sunset.
There was almost no interesting news that caught my eye today, so i’ve decided to share this dumb little story with you, whoever you are.
In October 2007, I signed up for iStockphoto, uploaded four images, and just let it be. I didnt expect I single one to sell, they were there because I really wanted to try stock photography. However, after the painful acceptance process (and that was just to get an account open) I pretty much left my account high and dry.
Well, I thought they would win, but it looks like I was wrong (a very rare occasion).
If you haven’t previously heard, Toshiba will be announcing that they are also dropping the HD DVD format, essentially ending the format war.
First WB jumps the HD wagon. Then Netflix, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and the porn industry. Few people thought there was still half a chance for HD, but with Toshiba bailing out, its over…
What the heck am I going to do with my Xbox 360 HD-DVD player? At least it does upscaling…
Although I think that this one will stick. Its easier to use than the other, but still 100% changeable by me, and thats what I want. And (almost) totally free.
So, as you can see, there isn’t much here yet, but there is a little. On the right there is a link to some of my photos. It runs off of a nice (read: free) program that I found, and keeps the pictures from being taken off the site.
Speaking of pictures, I finally sold a few pictures on iStock (not that I was trying very hard). I only had four photos up, and one happened to be purchased, followed by two more! So now it looks like I am $1.70 closer to my Nikon D300. There is a link on the right that goes straight to my iStock Portfolio.
Anyways, keep an eye on this site since I do plan on updating it. I have about 2,000 pictures to fish through to decide which get put up on here… Im also a pretty big YouTube freak, so you will probably see a video or two on here.
This is my own little corner of the web to keep me busy. Although I dont really have any one subject to talk about, most of the stuff on here will probably be Tech or Travel related (seeing that they are the two things that I do most in my life). Have a look around, but remember that things around here are always changing.
